Title: Ignition problem
Post by: 1bad88r on July 20, 2013, 08:12:29 PM
So we went on a ride today bike ran absolutely great all day till I turned it off to take a water break. Tried to fire it back up and got nothing. Thinking maybe I fouled a plug. I put in a new one still nothing. No spark. Get a tow back to the truck and lost my back brakes over heated from riding them because we used a short strap. After 5 miles of being towed I dropped it in second gear to keep me from rear ending the commander towing me and it Fired right up WTF. Only thing I can come up with is a weak ignition. Am I on the right track?

I ran a cr ignition on my old 330 motor. It was the 01 but there a bit out of my price range right now. Was wondering if say a 97-99 cr ignition would work and be a upgrade. Or should I just through my other stock ignition I have on it.

i think the 97-99 would be fine, just a little extra wiring

Picked up a 2001 cr250 ignition for $125. Just did a search for 2001 cr250 part out on google and found a guy in Mass. Parting one out. Now I need a adaptor. If tharrison365 ever refunds my money ill get one from ESR. Google search engine is about to be flooded with searches for 2001 cr250 part out. Lol
