Title: Ct duner project
Post by: mandom250r on April 15, 2015, 12:45:49 AM
This project will have to be done in 2 weeks because i have a buddy coming in from out of town and i dont have anything for him to ride and i find that unacceptable. I will build it with whatever parts i have and then go back and redo the suspension and a-arms once he leaves. Here is what i got done today.
Got my LSR back from being powdered last week.

CT350PV with yukon gears and full Hinson clutch.

Got my clutch cover back from polisher on sunday.

I need to find a allen head bolt for the front engine mount since you cant fit a socket in there so everything is hand tight for now.

lol Thanks guys my buddy is one of my best friends. Hes an old army buddy that i havent seen in 4 years.

That baby blue color took months to decide. Engine has about 4 hours on it so there is no way im taking it apart just to change the color on the cases.

As far as the fenders, i have my mind set on the 89 look but will dress it up with the other fenders and seat combos i have to get your guys opinions.

Your right but that also means that engine has to stay paired with that frame forever now lol

some progress i got done today. Went shopping for a bolt for the front engine mount and tightened all motor mounts. This will be the first time i will run a head stay. Installed a Works rear shock i had. Planned on rebuilding and powdering the spring baby blue also but then decided to upgrade to some new elkas later. I will use this now and when my buddy leaves i will replace with elkas. (http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z157/armandomoreno/DSC01627.jpg)

Also put the lower frame rub block on and started on the linkage. (http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z157/armandomoreno/DSC01628.jpg) Will need to do a little grinding on the lower shock clevis because the dogbone wont fit.

I understand those to be a by-product of the casting process.  I've had them ground down on PRO-X cylinders before.

On friday i had put the swingarm on so naturally i wanted to make it a complete roller so i stayed up all night monday wrenching. This is what i felt like with that damn lock ring. My fault for not having some good tools but it got me so frustrated it made me move on to other parts of the bike.

Thanks guys, kevin i actually built it in 7 days lol. It could of been done in 5 but i had to work last weekend. Im going to the dunes today for the first time, ill make sure and take some good pics.
Red88 ive always ran 14-38 with a +7 extended swingarm and 22/11/8 10 paddle extremes so i think a 14-37 with stock swingarm and 21/11/8 8 paddles extremes will be perfect.

Thats awesome mando! I'm sure you both loved every minute of it. I can't wait to take my boy riding in a couple years.
oh yea ive been waiting for this moment for years. I dont even know who was more excited me or him lol. When we got home friday night he was even riding his quad inside the garage. He would ride forward 10 feet, get off and pull it back and then ride forward again lol. He tried to get every inch of riding space he could in there.

Whenever you get your chance kevin make sure and take a bunch of pics and video. It was an epic weekend for me. Wish i had a gopro but i just put my sis in the back while she recorded lol. Works out the same, cant even tell the difference lol

Thanks craig back at ya. You have some incredible toys yourself. Its the greatest feeling in the world when your little one asks you to go ride the first time. From there on its weird if he doesnt want to go lol.

This weekend i didnt have my boy so i go to play with the bigger boys at the dunes. I didnt feel comfortable racing yet so i asked one of my buddys. Found out im geared too high so now that the chain stretched hopefully i can slip a 39T sprocket on. This is the only pic i have though.

Decided to go with a cr125 cdi just for fun. Didnt know where or how to mount it since i dont have a sleave but this should work for now

Ok so the day didnt go as planned; didnt get to ride much and didnt waste my gas because i lost a nut. Oh well the whole quad is in boxes now and will focus on other projects.

Yea a buddy rolled over because of it. Nothing happened to the bike n who cares about him. The good thing is that he rolled as he was crawling down a rutted dune and quad had a soft landing.

Im thinking of getting some of these but not sure if they fit roll arms http://www.ebay.com/itm/381449224633?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
