I am in the process of putting my swingarm back on the frame of my '87 R. I installed a new pivot works bearing kit. When I put the new pivot collars into the needle bearing housing the collars stick out about 3/16" or so to one side or the other, and it won't allow the dust seal/end caps to go on. I am assuming the new collars are longer than the original oem ones, but unfortunately I tossed them so I don't have nothing to reference. If anybody has an oem collar laying around I would appreciate if you could measure the overall length so I know if the part is wrong or if I am going crazy. Maybe they sent me the wrong kit or something.

I put one of these in a couple weeks ago. The needle bearing needs to be pushed in far enough for the collar to fit in all the way. There should be enough room for the collars to fit all the way in on each side.

I checked; bearings and pivot side collars are seated correctly(from end to end it measures about 2.420"). It just appears that the collar is too long(it measures about 2.540"). I will try to post a pic. I'll probably have to use the chop saw as well.

I just rebuilt my wife's 86 swinger with the pivot works kit & the thrust collars had a short side & a long side. To make it work I had to install the inner thrust collars with the long side exposed & the outter collars with the short side exposed. Mine measures roughly 2.645". Here's a pic to show what I'm talking about, hope this helps:

Now I'm thinking maybe the pivot side collars may be wrong. I'm gonna have to tear it apart and double check everythng
