That bracket is a key part of this set up. The Smart carb is pushing the whole airbox back 1/2 inch. I just might be able to space it forward 1/2" without dealing with the rest of the mounts.

Do you have a price on what everything in the pic ran costwise   ccaiazza

This is really cool. I was going to go with arlans when I rebuild my 310, but might have to go this route.

Any feedback yet on this setup, i.e., performance gains, installation pictures, etc?  I'm thinking about getting one.

Did you ever get this intake mounted up? If so, how did it fit? Can you share some pics with us?

I called Fuel Customs about this intake because I wanted to know if it was designed to fit the stock or aftermarket carb.  Most of us use a 38mm or 39mm aftermarket carb, which have a larger intake bell than the stock 34mm carb.  Anyway, he said he designed it for the stock carb.  He gave me the diameter--which I think was in the 50mm range--but it was smaller than my 62mm intake bell.  So, I don't think it will work with larger aftermarket carbs.

Wow.....If that is the case, then the intake that they made is worthless. Almost no one uses the stock carb anymore. It's generally the 2nd thing to go, right after the factory exhaust pipe. Even when I ran a stock jug, I was running a 38 A/S. Well, that's disappointing. Thanks for the info christph .

Since it uses a rubber collar to connect to the carb, I wonder if he could simply get a collar that tapers up to a larger carb bell?

We talked about that on the phone.  He looked for a larger collar but couldn't find one.  I don't think you would want a smaller intake track flaring into a larger carb anyway, it might offer less performance than stock.

I don't want to discourage you guys from calling Fuel Customs and talking with Garrett about it.  Maybe he will make one with a larger intake.

One issue I had with the led being larger was with aftermarket shocks the boot would rub and wear through so there's a fine line there.

Dang wish I would have read this again. I just got this kit as a gift from my bro. Did not know this works only with stock carb. Man the filter is huge
