Title: Mandos Desert R
Post by: mandom250r on July 07, 2015, 11:00:47 PM
Got my desert chassis yesterday so im starting this because now i only need small parts to complete this build. Got this OEM replacement chassis for $200 shipped so i couldnt say no. Its the matching chassis to my rear shock and swingarm. Was told this was a desert racer built to race the baja 1000 but one of the riders got hurt so it never got used. It sat for a long time and only saw a couple dune trips and the powdercoat shows. Was going to do a blue powdercoat but this red is real nice so it stays. This will have the blue 87 style colors.

Looks like fun. Maybe the angle across the front is a damper mount?

I agree that the front gusset / mount was probably for a steering stabilizer.

Awesome mods to the frame, build looks like its going to be a good one! Love the tail light set up as well.
