Title: OEM Parts ordering
Post by: KsSandduner on August 24, 2015, 05:48:39 PM
I'm curious where everyone is ordering their OEM parts from? I ordered a couple gaskets and bolts from Service Honda, and they charged me $20 shipping!!

RMATV has a lot of OEM R parts in stock. I order stuff all of the time in our showroom here in KY.

Once service Honda had a sale on 89 clutch updates. I emailed to ask how much shipping was. I don't recall the exact amount but I was astronomical. I asked if there was another means of shipping because the quote they gave me quite high. There reply was, "that's what you get for living in Hawaii"

Jon caught wind of this and sold me an 89 update. It came in a $5 flat rate box. Members looking out for the brethren.

For a long time, companies like Rocky Mountain didn't have much OEM stuff, so Service Honda was the place to go for parts.  Your only other choice was full list price at your local dealer.  But with so many online suppliers getting on the OEM supply chain, you've got lots of choices, and with the increased volume the online suppliers have, you can get much better shipping rates.

honestly i dont think servicehonda stocks a darn thing. when you place a order they send that order to the honda wharehouse which sends the parts back to service honda which then sends the parts to you. probly why the shipping is outrageous and the ship time is horrible. rockymountain stocks alot of stuff and hence why it arrives to your house in 2-3 days. rockymountain is great for fast service but if you look at their prices they arent that great on eom stuff

For small orders, $50 or so, I usually just order from Rocky Mountain. Once I get above that, I will order from Service Honda because I have found them still to be the cheapest, even when you include the expensive shipping. (I check around every couple of months.) I have noticed that they usually charge me a little less for shipping then the actual price, especially when I order a lot of little stuff.

I have been ordering from Service Honda for close to 15 years and Udontknowme is correct, Service Honda stocks nothing, that why it takes extra time to get your parts. You order from them, they order from the Honda warehouse, the warehouse delivers to Service Honda, then they deliver to you. Usually takes a little over a week to get something from Service Honda, but when I order hundreds of dollars in parts at one time, the price is usually quite a bit cheaper then anyone else, so it is worth the wait to me.

I like when a place gives you the option on who ships it. I ordered something the other day and ups came up for the shipping. Over $18! Clicked on the usps quote and it was like $7. I get most of my stuff from World of Powersports.

i check ebay first then usually go to service honda. yes they dont stock anything. yes shipping is stupid high but they have such low prices is usually ends up in the positive in the end as long as your not buying one part. you have to make sure your ordering a bunch of stuff at once. otherwise just try to source it from ebay or maybe amazon
