Got the opportunity to race at the Ricky Carmichael edge of summer MX event last Friday. The track was a little intimidating at first so I decided to only run one class. Rider count wasn't great but they were mostly national level riders. Got a couple of good practices in, the quad was running great, and I was starting to have some fun.

Only had three riders in open C but they dropped us with B class as well. I was right up front at the first corner until I had to check up for the guy in front of me. Didn't feel comfortable doubling in traffic made it to the back whoop stretch and they were way deeper then in practice hit them hard and got crossed up and almost lost it. Kept my composure and put my head down. I felt like I had a lot of energy and was faster then the couple riders in front of me and I had time but I checked up for the step up my feet came off the pegs and I came down hard and tweaked my ankle bad. Right away I couldn't put any weight on it. Rolled around for a lap on one foot then pulled off. Little disappointed that I didn't get to give it my all cause the quad was running great. Just gotta heal up and I think it'll come together.

Awesome videos man that's really cool

No shame there what-so-ever sir. Many people don't realize how difficult it is to race until they have been out there the first time. It is exciting and intimidating and thrilling and terrifying all rolled into one. And things can go wrong at a second's notice. Props for getting out there and giving it what ya got. Racing is never fair, but it keeps you coming back in the hopes of that amazing race that you remember forever!

Nice ride! Those whoop sections looked like fun.

Couldn't of said it better myself! Even the gopro doesn't really do justice to how deep the ruts are or how steep the jump faces are. Thanks guys! Still had fun the pros put on a great show.

It was fun and an impressive track considering it's only temporary. They had a different configuration for the pro bikes as well. It was a good time and had good payouts. The sad thing is I think there was over a thousand people to sign the petition to let quads race there and I think only 67 showed up. I'm sure it had something to do with it being on a Friday but hopefully we'll get the opportunity again next year and get a better turnout. I was the only two stroke big quad there.

It's crazy how many guys come over to check this quad out right when it's unloaded. I've been told it brings back a lot of memories. Well I gave in and went to the doctor today.. X Ray shows a cracked tibia so it looks like I'll be out for a little bit.
-
That sucks man, but at least you know now. Better to heal up and go on then just to agitate it to an even worse state. It happens.

Haha that's what I was thinking. I just wanted to make sure nothing was out of place. They didn't give me any restrictions just wanted me to go to a bone specialist. I'm sure all they would do is take some more really expensive pictures and say your fine just take it easy. I'm still paying a bill from when I broke my kneecap into three pieces and they never even did anything to it.
Thanks guys! Just a minor setback.
