Title: Regional Forums?
Post by: Deuce on July 26, 2013, 12:15:21 AM
So I was just thinking... I've just noticed that there are a few members popping up on this forum from my area.  Would it be possible to add a regional forum section with sub sections that pertain to your general area ie: north east, mid west, west coast, etc... all that good stuff?  For an example of what I'm talking about you can see what YFZ Central has done... http://www.yfzcentral.com/forum/  its about 3/4 the way down the page after the sponsors.  Could do it life yfz or could do it where its a section to click on like the ATC or Hybrid sections that inside would house the regional sub forums.

I'm thinking of this so people who are in the same region can possibly get in touch and organize some rides, swap meets, or something.

That's not a bad idea.  I know I'm having a tough time finding riding spots around me and possibly meeting up with others that have riding spots would be nice!

That's what I'm talking about.  And I know atleast in my area, we could organize a few rides or something out to places in PA or MX tracks that are atv friendly because there are no dunes in my neck of the woods

I think having a regional section would not have allot of activity but a Riding and Events section would be cool, you just list in the header where the event is and people from the area will know to look at that post. Thats how Banshee HQ does it

That sounds like it would work the same way to save forum space. One section and if there is something big and special to a large number of members then it could be a stickie until the get together.

Do you think it would have enough activity to justify the space?

This was my thought as well.

I was hoping it would be, as long as people actually wanted to meet up and ride.

If no one thinks it will have enough use for the sub sections, then what about just an Events and Meets section as Rsss (Dave) Said?
Atleast it will be a section devoted more for whos going to races, who has races where, and all that good stuff so it will be easier to keep track of than the lounge, since the lounge is more or less just general

Now, I think that this would work and be a good thing.

I've got places to ride and people to ride with, but the only close 250r I know of hasn't been kicked in over 6 years.  It would be fun to meet up with some other r guys.  Either way you decide to add it would be cool with me.
