I am running out of room in garage. My question is can you store a quad by standing it up on the grab bar .

Sure. Just turn fuel petcock off and drain fuel from bowl.

I was thinking about this very thing last night.Might have to drain the trans oil too. I know on my Tecate-4 when I stood it up on its grab bar to work on something oil was coming out the vent tube.

Standing an R up will hurt nothing. Like mentioned, just make sure you turn the fuel off. The carb will drain out but no oil will come out of the trans.

Last winter I had 2 Rs and a cheeta cub on the grab bars due to lack of space, 250rs are fine but banshees the breather comes out and spills oil if you're not careful. And also dont have a full fuel tank

You might run it well its cold and pull the choke so it's rich.

Put mine away yesterday. Don't know why I never did this before. I still have to put a 4x4 quad with plow in front of the Predator. Last winter with 4 quads and my truck in my 2 car garage it was packed like sardines and was like putting a puzzle together. Now I can even get a 5th quad standing up next to the Tecate. Looks like time to look for another winter project.

I'm loving that tecate too. So how do you like the tecate 4 compared to your R dirtyd? Power, ergonomics, handling, stability???

It's hard to compare because they are to different animals. I built my R to be basically a duner so its more violent when it hits the power band. The Tecate is stock. Wtih all the bad things I heard about the Tecate's handeling I was kinda impressed. Its a fun machine in the tight trails. The steering is a little quick and it has really bad bump steer. But I was suprised it was pretty plush and the seat is like a comfy couch. As far as the motor goes, again its fun in the woods. The power band was broad and was like riding my 4stroke. Didn't wear me out like when I try to ride my R in the woods. Top end didn't seem all that impressive but I think that might be because it has an older FMF turbine core that is choking it out. I don't know what these sound like with a different silencer but with this FMF it has a funny tone to it and is pretty quiet. If you didn't see it you wouldn't think its a 250. All in all if I wanted to go for an easy little trail ride its fun. I need to get different tires front and back, its got 20's and 22's right now.

thanks for the compliments, to bad the plastics look like Frankenstien. Heres a pic of it naked.
