Had my pile of bolts and other small parts replated.
Here is a sneak peak at what they will like on the frames I am working on.

I believe that is the yellow zinc plate.
-
My thoughts exactly. If you paid for gold, you best be going back and collecting someones teeth.
-
Looks good btw.....how many bikes are you building? Fricken hoarder! You have a timmy boy bumper in that pile?
-
Haha.. You guys are funny. The place it took them to calls it gold zinc. And I paid their $75 minimum fee.

I won't be a pig,,,,, but I have been looking for a clutch actuator arm for my desk ornament.. and a gold sprocket would look nice on it too... are you interested in selling a couple of pieces?

Actually I will be selling some of the items that I won't be using. Like the axle nuts, brake rotor hubs, brake stay plate.
Do you need a working actuator arm? Because one of the ones in the picture the cut out that pushes the rod is worn out. I'd probably let that one go.

$75 to plate all that. Huh? I thought it would be more $.

Yes that is the nickname for the yellow zinc. The clear is silver. Honda uses both. Did you have to clean them before sending?
-
Tony, I tried to clean them but I was overwhelmed with that real quick. I tried to degrease them first and then I bought a parts tumbler. Both of those tasks were just taking too long. I ended up just taking them in like that and they turned out really nice.
The only thing to worry about is paint or powder coat. Their cleaning solution that they bath the parts in first won't remove either.
-
Do they use Acid? My plater uses an acid bath to clean first. They come out amazing and i give everything to him pretty nasty! The acid bath he uses will strip paint, but PC not so much....

Is it cadmium or yellow zink plating, we had all our hardware for the Porsche restoration cars I was doing done in cadmium. It has a oil in water effect under different light conditions when it's fresh. I love getting hardware back from plating it's like Christmas lol

wow thats pretty awesome

yep, that is awesome.
