I have an 85 atc250r that I'm having a problem with the rear brake master cylinder. When I press the brake lever down it sticks down until I pull the lever back up. The return spring is fine and it doesn't require much force to pull back up. It has done this for a few years, but i have always just pumped the brake a few times and it would work fine from then on out. Does anyone know what parts I need to fix this or what causes this?
Thanks

plunger or bore issue ? you can rebuild the master cylinder. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Honda-ATC250R-83-86-REAR-Brake-Master-Cylinder-Rebuild-Kit-ATC-250R-1983-1986-/400777496593?hash=item5d50334811:g:8~EAAOSwniRWN-r1&vxp=mtr

Sounds like your brakes just need a rebuild. Kits are pretty cheap & fyi shindy kits are the same as oem & less money. I think it was around 50-60 to rebuild the rear caliper & mc.

It looks like some of the parts are discontinued like the rebuild kit. I found a discontinued kit on ebay I'm gonna buy that and hope it fixes it.

I have a whole 85 atc in pieces i took apart recently so i should have the rear brakes laying around if you're interested

I bought that rebuild kit on ebay. If that doesn't fix it I'll consider buying a new master cylinder.

try removing your lever and make sure it moves freely and there is no rust in between the seals too
