Well deserved, hats off to both of you!!
-
Nice!!!
-
thats beautiful! not sure it needs anything but fenders and suspension.
john
-
I like the silver frame. Looks better than what I currently ride!
-
Very nice.
-
Definitely a nice looking base for a project
-
It kinda got thrown together a few years ago and never run. Never really finished. Jon was mentioning stripping everything down to the frame to fit in the rental car. Needs suspension, chain, fenders, and the 350 motor as this one leaks tranny fluid. Has a 39mm carb and rad valve. They were looking at getting a 4 mil crank for the 350 motor which will make it around 363cc? Were trying to get rss396 to make the stoker modification. Its already started as Red black and silver as is the color of this web site currently. Jon has an ESR clutch cover for the motor. Plan was to just get the bike running and put mods on when affordable. Otherwise he would not be riding for the next 3 years, LOL!
-
you are a good man tony.
john
-
That thing is sweet!
LOL, after you wash the 3 years of dust off it, it does have some shine!
-
Are you driving up to Oregon to get it? Heading up 5?
-
Is Iowa between Phoenix and La?? :)
-
Lol
-
What kinda nerfs are those?? I like em!
-
What kinda nerfs are those?? I like em!
The home made kind. Like, 1 of and only!
-
Gtfo...you make'em puma??
-
Some junk I waste my time on. Somebody please shoot me in the head.:sign0108:
-
This is a cool deal Tony. Jon, if you decide to go with a +4 I'll send you one. Its a hotrods that's never been used, but it should be checked. I got it from a .net member and it showed up in a beat up box with very minimal packaging,
-
great grab bar, great TT front bumper and nerfs for the riders protection keeping it trimmed up compared to race trim nerfs width for non race life. Cool.
-
Yeah I was eyeballing that front bumper!!
-
Ahahhahaha!!!
-
Good for you Jon!!
I'm sure you'll do her right!!
-
It is a very cool piece for sure, now go get it!!
-
Nice start, well deserved for giving us a new home! Pretty cool of Puma and our sponsors too, just dont see stuff like this happening anywhere else!!
-
Nick ride man, but I think it needs a puma gusset kit so john can ride it and not break it
-
Wow Tony that's awesome! Jon's will be starting with a great bike, if you need some help with the motor let me know.
-
I want to! I got a few pieces that I'm ready to toss on her. Brand new trx5, quick change, billet kicker, shifter, and brake pedal. Ill have to search down some plastics and a seat. I got a fairly new chain already.
there is no such thing a fairly new chain ...its either new or used,,,
please! please! please!... don't use a used chain ...cases are getting way too rare to risk it...its a small investment, that could have a HUGE expense if skimped on
im aware times are tough, but this is one part worth the wait till you can afford a new one
-
i would never risk my cases. It has very little hours. Still has the white goop on it.
Thats funny, I soak the chain with cleaning solvent and brush all the grease of on a new chain. Chain lube after assembly. I was going to suggest he use a new chain also. If it only has afew hours it should be fine.
-

:smoking still give every link a complete going over.... BUT DONT REUSE THE OLD MASTER!!!!:sign0027:
-
Very cool. That is a good shipping deal.
-
There's still much to do with the quad
Jon wants the mini nerfs so I will paint them black. A suspension I picked up from a member me here will be installed. Motor swapped with fresh polish on the side cases and cylinder. Will have to put a PWK39 carb on as its on an alcohol carb now. It does have a thumb throttle. The wheels are stock 05 trx450r with small amount of use. The bike was completely stripped, sand blasted and painted. All new bearings everywhere. I have 1 week to get this done. The scheduled ship date is 8/5 Will probably ship with plastics in poor shape and a seat
-
Sweet deal Tony.......
-
Now that is a very nice gesture Tony. Bet you can't wait to get her Jon. Sounds like it should be a nice ride.
-
Makes for a nice get a way if you go get'er
-
Don't stress it. There are always going to be people shipping stuff through those companies.
-
List it again!
-
Yep, list it again and keep listing it until the next deal.
-
Wow, that sucks Jon. Hope someone comes through for you.
-
Send me your money and I will put it in my desk here at work. When you are ready I will send it back.
-
a keyboard will do that
-
I know all about that. Things change on you so get it while the getting is good before something comes up.
I hope it works out for you.
-
Sweet!!!
-
Nice!!!
-
Wow! What-a-bargin! Super stoked for you John!
-

Can't wait for you to get this Jon, like I have said in the past it's much deserved. And Tony you are a great person for helping out Jon and all of the 250r community as you have/are!
-
parts are looking good!!!!
-
Wow, looks great tony and john is supper stoked about getting this R from you. Any pics he gets to see he don't even give me time to loom at them and he's calling me or texting me how awesome the parts look. I honestly think he will love this thing compared to the 2 times he did his own up and I helped him. He is a very picky person like the rest of us and he is on cloud 9 rite now. Awesome job and well deserved to him, and great work Tony.

A lot of work getting every nut and bolt put together. The orings on the shocks were trashed. The mounts for the fenders have to be flattened out to support them correctly. Drilling the holes, polishing the stainless bolts all takes time. I believe this is the fourth day straight I have been finding things to make the bike better than new. The motor was taken out for the 350 PV. Shocks taken apart for polish and paint color matching. Working on putting the 350 PV in this morning. Got the cylinder repolished yesterday. Found a 39mm carb.to put on. Still looking for the rad valve boot. Got the rad valve repolished. Will have to take the carb to the auto parts store on the way home and get some new vent lines. I dose for about 1/2 hour last night. Woke up at 8 PM, I thought it was 8 AM and started running around the house looking for everything I needed to bring to work today. I'm late, I'm late, but noticed my daughter was watching TV in her room. Dahh, its still Saturday, time to go to bed.
-
Tony I was looking at your web site and didn't see this rebuild service on it...
so im assuming its a free service for all members, Id like to pencil in a time for you to rebuild mine...
let me know when its convenient Im in no rush...I wont be needing the quad for at least a week which should be plenty of time for you, to make mine like new....
LOL, I wish...
but seriously your doing a great service for Jon, your the man!!! nice work
-
^^ Thats funny!
-
Wow Tony, breath man it will be great for John
-
^^ Thats funny!
Yeah it is pretty hilarious. Can't breath, the transporter called and wanted to pick up the bike today and this is what it looks like.

Funny thing is I took a file Carlos sent me and modified it from 2.5 diameter for an intake tube to 2.230 diameter to fit the shock resi! :sign0108: Do I have to pay Carlos a patient fee?
-
They look good though, and its hard to find those. I need one for my rear Axis and 2 to support the Axis X-Link onto my sway bar.
-
well there goes the neighborhood:fighting0024:

I don't have to worry about my friends on the other side. Thats where they belong and stay.

That's at least 2 buyers for some clamps. I imagine they'd sell pretty good. I sent you a pm about it.
-
I would take enough for 2 quads right now....both have custom axis on them.
-
Very similar to works but better because Tony made them for a 250R. Iv had to case resi clamps for my builds. If you could make these for us Tony it would be a great service. Maybe the members can list the O.D. of different brand of shocks.
Awesome work pumashine!
-
I need 2. orders are building.
-
Tony, you sorry bugger, why are you not selling these rezzi clamps? lol. I would take a set also for my front custom axis shocks.
-
Custom axis are 2" diameter :)
-
this is looking very nice.
john
-
Tony, you sorry bugger, why are you not selling these rezzi clamps? lol.
Because I have some shrouds to build. :tongue-new:
-
go ovrit, that would be sweet!!! Dave said the 350 with a +4 crank would be a sweet ride
I'll agree with Dave, plenty of nice power for all around riding.
-
Because I have some shrouds to build. :tongue-new:
Well played sir. Dang, should I just go ahead a send you a blank check? LOL. My parts list is getting long. I need a set of shrouds, rezzi clamps, and exhaust hangers. I'm getting a pretty good order together myself. haha
Well, I started a link to see if anyone else would be interested in ordering these clamps. Maybe it will bring in some $$$ for you.

-
you will have to remind me what I need to do again. I get so excited I forgot the fine details
Cylinder needs bore for new piston. Needs main bearings. At one point in time the crank spun but we only replaced the crank. I have a new set of the 8 ball mains to send you. You were going to get a 4 mil crank and have the cylinder worked or that mod.
-
Pipe and shrouds on, ready to ship!

Very nice job Tony, that thing looks awesome. I will say when Jon gets to ride it we will all know where he will be at as long as the sun is out, just look for the brute spot in the dunes.

Was hoping Will would be able to help out there. Plastic is new, ready for stickers. I just had to pull the Maier stickers. I can't handle outside advertising on a R
-
Looks awesome Tony, great job.
-
Nice!!!!!
-
woow awesome work tony!!!

Wills large std .org sticker might look killer on this quad in an 89 graffic type location.
-
Its on the way to Jon. He should get it late tomorrow evening.

-
It will be like x-mas eve and Jon's a little kid that wont be able to fall asleep!!
-
Christmas in August for jon, Tony saying goodbye to something he spent a lot of time with in the last 2 weeks, maybe happily.
I really like that grab bar how it is in line with the upper sub frame rail. A more rare aftermarket design that looks good.
-
"When is Santa coming!!!"" Lol
-
Its best not to push those guys. I gave Jeff an extra $50 bill to take good care of her.
-
Jon, post a picture with the smile on your face, when you get it! :eagerness:
-
Welllllll....... Come on already. We are all dying here.... I can picture you sitting on the front porch like a kid in anticipation biting your nails. Waiting to see the rig pull up.
-
3 more hours, the wait, the wait.
-
For some reason the suspension on that bike makes mine feel like butter.Hope you like it.
-
I am going to go blind after looking at that rear axle.
