Who's running Laeger a-arms with their narrow frame, and what spindles are you using?
I think I want to migrate away from the Roll/400EX combo I have. I'd like to use 04/05 TRX, or LTR spindles

Just curious, what do you think your gaining?

BTW 04-05 wont work due to the upper arm lengths being different due to the spindles being different. 400ex and 06+ 450r are very close to the same thing if not identical for geometry from what i have read.
The Roll Arms are designed to work with the 400ex geometry spindles. Changing them will likely increase bump steer either at the end of the travel or very beginning.

If I can't get the Roll stem that's designed for Laeger narrow w/ Roll arms, then I was gonna go to a full Laeger front end setup.
Unless you think Roll has another one. But I just got this Six 5 Designs stem that I'd rather not get rid of

Roll has another one that is +1 +1. Or at least did. I ran a 400ex Roll Design stem with only 1/4" total bump steer. 1/8" on each side. Anyone would be hard pressed to notice that. How much bump steer do you have now.

I had gibson arms (and they are designed for ex spindles) and 05 spindles on mine for a bit. The ratio of upper shock mounts and lower arm shock mounts are the same as standard R's. I would recommend any arms designed for R spindles for use with 04/05 spindles, Jd Performance mgc's for example. I've been riding a protrax front end for a couple of years, I think the maintenance fears of overrated, just get the grease gun out after every ride.

I'd be happy with 1/8 to 1/4.
I need to take some measurements this weekend to find out how much I have now.

Making sure your shocks are the correct compressed and extended lengths should be first priority before checking bump steer. Kyle and I have gotten 2 different stories out of roll. He says the laeger stem has a different flag height, they told me the only difference us the lower portion is an allen instead of a nut. Now a buddy has the narrow specific stem on his laeger and I have the same front with roll (std frame) stem on my walsh because the walsh is boxed and doesnt need the allen. We have compared them and the stems look to have the exact same flag and flag height. The setup is meant to run 400ex spindles. If you switch to 450 or especially ltr your stem will need to be custom. The ltr setups have always used a different flag on the swaps. I have a full walsh ltr and I can tell you they are much different and I highly doubt the results would be positive mixing the parts. Also riding both machines I dont think it would be worth the effort. Ltrs do turn in very well but I think a lot of it is the complete chassis, and the weight of the bike.

Another thing to know is the flag height on a 250R and 400ex are different. So that will create issues when running 400ex spindles with 250R stem IMHO.

Well then I need to compare both 250R and 400EX stems to mine. Now I'm not so sure which one I have, I'm guessing 250r

Laz measured and setup my shocks for my specific chassis and a-arms, so I know those are correct

The roll stem/arms is built for 400ex spindles though. Im not saying its perfect. But that was his design intent. I have virtually no bump steer though so it seems to work pretty well.

Ya i was unknowingly running a 400ex +1 +1 stem in my laeger frame for years. I thought it was a 250R but i sold it to guy awhile back and he checked the number and found out it was for a 400ex. Needles to say i ended up buying it back. Im running it in my stock 86 frame now. It fits just like it should. I always had about a 1/4" of total bump steer on my laeger frame/roll arm setup with it. Now im running the Roll Stem for the Laeger frame and i have Zero Bump steer.
Tbone, I have the +1 +1 stem for sale for $135. Thats pretty darn cheap if you want to try it.
