Other than taking unused stuff off Did they bolt right up?

Not really. Had to grind some off the left side heel guard it was hitting the frame peg mount. Used some spacers on the left an bolted to the chain roller. On the right side I used some aluminum flat stock from the silencer mount to the heel guard. I also have pro armor maxxi mizzer Ltr foot peg extensions.

good stuff fellers, keep the pics and ideas coming. Love to hear mounting details and what atv model you're using.

TRXPDX has a tube bender and plans on making heel buckets. Its hard to get big companies to build stuff for the R. I am helping him with the foot pegs now.

Heres a old pic of my first heel guard prototypes. They flow really well with Fullbore rear fenders. Soon......i know i have been saying that for a bit but they are coming. Tough to top the above pic though. Sheesh!
-
I like the idea of the replaceable net mounts,I know sometimes the AC style mounting loops get smashed closed making it a pain to replace the nets. Very nice design!!
-
The net mounts are great for a rider and duner but for race rubbing they may not be the best way to go. For racing and woods you need to rub and slide along quads and trees like the bumper rail on bumper cars or go carts at the play place. Rubbin's racin. Just a thought..
-
Good point,especially in the woods.

Jason, maybe you could do just the heel guard version also. For the boys who don't run the nerf and nets. :encouragement:

Good point,especially in the woods.
I had a play place cart track session this weekend with my son and brother in law. I "rubbed" each of the other 5 carts and the wall several times as I put in some fun laps. Good times. The gliding and sliding is key while rubbing and is a big part of any wheel to wheel debate.
-
You are exactly right,TT is the same way. And now you got me thinking about hitting the go kart track..lol
-
Yes i will be coming up with a sleeker design, these we just a test. More great pics! Lol!
-
OFF TOPIC but I had a blast laughing almost the entire time. The fast ones really let you get your fix. This guy was acting like he was going to smoke evryone in front of his gal while we were waiting so I rubbed on his kart even when I didn't need to while lapping him both times.
Hello lips!! lol, some people.
I was surprised my 12 year old son didn't go faster then he did but the g's just really surprised him. He just made the 12 over cut and I had only driven them once before and explained it to him but he was really surprised.
Good Times!!

Are these going to be just heel guards, heel guards with pegs? And hopefully for an 86!

Anyone using 450R heel guards ?
Guys, ya shouldn't be posting pictures of barely dressed women here, the moderators made it very clear that this is a family friendly website. There are young kids that come here and if they see that kinda of stuff they might not want to buy/ride a 250R. Before you post something you need to ask yourself if the content is kid friendly... in other words when you comment here you should imagine you're talking to either a child, your mother or some religious leader-dude... about 250Rs. I think the moderators should censor the picture of the nearly naked female upper-leg area for the sake of the children's innocence.
How bout 400ex guards. The 400ex and 450R guards are a lot easier to find in used condition. I'd love to be able to buy a new set of IMS-Rolls made for the '88-'89, but I'm too cheap !!
-
I believe the 450r heel guards work well with a few mods

(Meat's Comment's) "I promise you the children will not be harmed in any way, shape or form.
I'm going to say something that might shock a few people. I want you go to your favorite search engine and search for the word "boobs". Trust me, your kid has searched for the word boobs and if they haven't, well then they're too young to be on a internet forum . "
(My Comment) Dude! Are you for real? Contradictory maybe!
A couple of ladies in bathing suits. And yes, I wouldn't hesitate to show these pics to my mother or a religious leader-dude. Have a nice day! :love_heart:
And yes, the 450R heel guards will work, with some modifications.

Fred, I'm not contradicting myself at all, I still believe that censoring words or bikini pics is not the right direction. What I am saying is that the members here decided that they want a family forum that children can visit and not have to read certain words or see certain pictures and by pointing that out to the guy who posted the picture does two things, it informs everyone of the censorship rules that are on this forum and it shines a light on the censorship rules that are on this forum. Do you understand ? I can re-word my reply if you don't understand where I'm coming from. These are the rules here, I challenged the rules and no one stood on my side of the debate, where were you then, what was your opinion ? We all decided its for the best of the forum to be accessible to young kids and I believe that if people are offended or don't want the kids to read even the most simplest of "curse" words then they certainly don't want a close up picture of the female sexual area.
-
Hey guys, love the pictures and all, but how bout some details on how you mounted em and/or the story you have about em. Did you have to grind stuff, did you have to make brackets, do I have to cut my fenders, would you get another model if you did it again etc etc. How bout some closeups ? I'd like to know if you use Roll footpegs with... lets say 400ex Roll guards, do the mounting holes on the guards line up with the mounting holes in the footpegs ? Details like that is what I'd love to hear about. Did you have to bend anything ? Thanks fellers...
-
10-fo. I need details too. All I got is you guys for support as there are no R owners around me. If something works from some other quad it helps me tremendously.
