Title: 1st TRX250r...and loving it.
Post by: jimi on December 23, 2015, 12:39:12 PM
Im new to the world of the TRX. I just got a 1986 TRX250r on a trade for my Duncan Racing built 1990 LT250r.
I would say it was a fair trade.
My LT was built and had tons of power, being built by Duncan.
My new TRX250r it is fair shape.
Pep shocks, Cool head, FMF pipe, Its a good start. But i will put a LOT of time and money into it.
Runs crappy, need to be jetted and cleaned. AND get the shocks up to my weight(too soft).
It has a tank and cooler rack and some CNC pegs that I do not like. 2nd things Im swapping out.
I knew ALOT about the LT250r and will learn of the TRX, but I will ask and hope this forum can help.
Im in So Cal, and can ride year round, but going to build this TRX for Motocross, Being that Im surrounded

by MX tracks (Glenn Helen only 30min away).
good to be here and hope to get lots of help.

Good looking bikes, I went from a zilla to a puma and there's a huge difference in handling.

Magura twist throttle? I have them on all my bikes. The 86 looks pretty clean.

Welcome to the site. Hopefully you like your new 250R as much as we all like them. I've seen pegs like yours before, are they RIS?

they have the same mount up block like the R.I.S Designs. so I would have to say yes. But not a 100% sure.

:quad:Nice bikes, I'd say it's a even trade. The LT looks better but you put some effort in to the looks I'm guessing. The LT is pretty limited on power whereas the 250R has basically unlimited potential. Welcome to the premiere 250R site

Welcome to a solid group of knowledable guys here. And you made a smart trade of quads. Anytime you get rid of a Suzuki and gain a Honda that's a smart trade.

Well the Suzuki didnt have as much stuff on it. it was a little easer to work on. The TRX will be a learning curve. But im in it to win it so bring it on....
