Title: New piston or bore and piston?
Post by: hickwheeler on January 04, 2016, 06:56:42 PM
Just tore the top end a part. Looks like I should be able to just do a piston. But I thought I would see what you guys thought. Gene I would hone it and then measure the bore and check the ring end gap. That should tell you what you need to do.

Going back to your other thread about the porting, is it ported? Looking from inside the cylinder it looks like some work was done

Yes now looking at it off the bike it has had some port work done. I was wrong saying it was unported.

Definitely measure the bore after honing. You do not want excessive ring gap or piston clearance. I learned the hard way on that one.

Ya I noticed the lack of chamfering. I think I'm going to be taking it to Pete.
