This my version of dd kicker shaft , much cheaper lol.. I took 2 shafts and  pined the 2 together and welded them.[attach=config]1099[/attach][attach=config]1100[/attach] so far so good. I got  4 weekeds of racing on it..

Nice!  And with a good weld job it will never break.  This is the kind of stuff I'm all about.

Direct drive used to modify stock kickers and they wod snap over time that's why they had the new lengthed ones made now.  But most have more time then money but as long as it doesn't brake a leg!

damn good, cant really see where the weld is.

here is a way to strengthen it:

bore a hole in either end that will allow a press fit

press in a high tensile steel rod

press other end on, then weld that sucker together.  should never break.

How did you make sure the shafts were straight?

I used my lathe when i drilled the two shafts and when i made the pin. I pressed the to together with my press and used it to hold preasure when i welded the two shafts. If that makes sense..
