Check these out from ESR. I've contemplated ceramic wheel bearings but never really thought about the engine. Does anyone run these currently? What are the advantages?

For $329, they are proud of those bearings.  I'd be interested to hear if anyone is running these also and how much better they hold up.

The ceramic bearings reduce internal friction in the bearing.   I have not seen longer bearing life due to the environment and the air the off road toys breath.

Ceramic bearings will not tolerate dirt or sand.  The grit chips the ceramic ball bearing, where grit makes a dent in a steel ball bearing.  The outer and inner races are the same material in a steel or ceramic bearing.  Only the balls are different.

450R guys are using them in drag racing applications. Some believe they are the cat's meow. It would be hard to justify the cost.

Sounds like an unnecessary expense for the average Joe. But a cool concept nonetheless

I'm guessing Eddie is only selling them because some drag guy asked from them specifically.
