Title: 88 upper radiator shroud mounts
Post by: stevo936 on February 02, 2016, 10:08:42 PM
The mounts on my 88 250r shroud keep breaking.  Ive tried to weld them a few times but usually break again shortly after.

Ive seen the mounts on eBay for 86s for like $20.  Will these work on my 88 style?

are you using rubber cushions on the mounts for vibrations?

That is odd. I have broke shrouds before, but not the mounts.

The mount it very thin and cannot withstand alot of weight or vibration. The ones supplied in the gusset kits are 3 x the thickness for this purpose.

You can always cut them off and put on the 86 style.

If you are gonna weld some back on, go with Tony's kit. The oem ones are far too weak.
