Title: Best Bearing/seal kit brand???
Post by: Robsessed86 on February 15, 2016, 05:25:42 AM
So I'm freshening up some things on my daily driver and buying bearings/seal kits for my frame up build that I'm working on and wanting to put beat bearing seal kits on both quads. What is everythings favorite brand??? All Balls? Pivot Works? Boss Bearings? Or any other brand that I'm not thinking off. I want to use the best quality products. Also, are needle bearings better than regular bearings. Boss offers needle for swingarm and front wheel bearings?? Thanks the help guys

I've always used Pivot Works for linkages and swingarms. Front wheel bearings and steering stem I try to use OEM if $ allows. This past time I had to use an All Balls kit for the cr500 linkage because we didn't have Pivot Works in stock and I've had zero problems.

I recently freshened up 2 bottom ends and ended up going with a couple of Boss Bearing kits. Several of the bearings were stamped with "Japan" on them which tells me more than likely the same as OEM. I could not justify spending a $100+ more on basically what seemed like the same bearings.(http://forums.trx250r.org/vbulletin_imports/1016_7271_2017-04-18_6374.jpg)

DO NOT use the crank bearings from the BOSS bearing kits all other bearings work fine. i have had trouble out of their crank bearings if they are not KOYO bearings toss them.

I guess I misunderstood the question lol. I thought we were talking about chassis parts. Dem3500 is right though that's the best option engine wise.

I think I may have misunderstood lol. the engine was just the first thing that came to mind. as far as chassis bearings and seals i use all balls and boss bearing, whichever one is cheaper. i believe quality is the same between the two.

I've ordered from all three in the past with no premature failures main thing is not using the machine as a mud bogger.

I was originally asking about chassis bearings/seals. I'm replacing lower stem bearing, swingarm bearings, linkage bearings, bearing carrier seals, front and rear wheel bearings.

So since boss are cheapest and haven't heard anything bad against them I'm going with them. They are considerably cheaper.

I use Pivot Works for chassis bearings.  Tried using All Balls and there seemed to be fitment issues.  I also used All Balls main bearings once and they failed within 20 minutes.  Use Honda for main bearings if possible ( going to try a Boss Bearing kit this week for the first time)
