Just out of curiosity, why would you want to powder coat a cylinder?

looks obviously, but i have wondered if it mattered or not if having the cylinder powder coated would dissipate heat less than a raw one. is there any heat dissipated out of the material its self or is it all strictly the coolant doing the work. maybe jerry can chime in :P

Yea cylinder is coated for looks. The heat is taken care of by the coolant mostly. I've powder coated an air cooled engine before. Harley coats their engines also. I believe it's powder but I could be wrong. Either way it's on there thick. If you wanted the cylinder black but your concerned about the heat you could ceramic coat it. There's even a head dissipating ceramic paint also.
