Title: Need Help With Rim Identification
Post by: Big_Mike on March 13, 2016, 11:36:19 AM
Hey Guys, I just bought these awesome Douglas yellow label front rims from Trailburner (Heath) he gave me a smoking deal!

Neither of us are sure what style these rims are, I want to buy a new set of rears to match the fronts.. I know you gurus must know the style, they look like the Douglas A5's, but I don't think they are.. Anyone?

These are the rims I just bought from Trailburner:

I have a rear set like that with paddles on them, but I think they are Yamaha bolt pattern and they are brushed instead of polished.  I'll check in the morning.

Not Shamrocks.  I believe any wheel that was labeled "Shamrock" was a beadlock wheel. they do have the same center though. they are DWT A5's.....???? or special order? maybe a quick call or email to DWT.

Joe, after searching and searching I thought the same, Douglas A5's.  But I was told otherwise...  They do look (and I thought they were) like the A5's.  If they are A5's then what are the Shamrocks I hear about look like?

Here are the Shamrocks and the A5's, they do look more like the Shamrocks..  Your thoughts?

Shamrocks left A5's right

these are called dwt litecast quadroks
look the same to me.

obviously the cut outs are somewhat shaped different but that is going to vary from bolt pattern/wheelsize.

Thank you guys I appreciate your information.  So are the Shamrocks a beadlock and look very similar to the dwt litecast quadroks (which looks identical to the ones in my first post)?  I prefer the non beadlock type like the dwt litecast quadroks.  Are the dwt litecast quadroks still manufactured?

I did just that, I sent an inquiry to Douglas, they don't have a direct email on their homepage, just an information page and I filled it out and gave them specifics.

Ok well I have some closure, Douglas Wheels replied back to me this afternoon and I sent them a little the picture of the rims I purchased and they replied back to me:

Michael,

Sorry but these have been out of production and out of stock for years.

So I replied back, could you please tell me the name of the style of the rims at the time of production to help me better locate a pre owned pair..  No response as of yet I will report back if and when I hear from them...

Update!  JesseA, you were right bro!  DWT contacted me back and confirmed these rims are indeed Quadrocks and they still have them in stock!  Here is a pic that Douglas emailed me a short while ago!  I'm ordering my rears from them today!  Thanks for all your help guys!

Tucker Rocky or motosportoutlet also sold a "ROCK"brand generic of the same wheels. I have set with sand tires on them. It's a cast wheel with a tapered lug seat and a thick lip. I also like the look of the wheel.
