Title: 89 AC pro pegs
Post by: Grande huevos on March 23, 2016, 10:43:05 AM
I have some ac pro pegs and when I bought the bike they never have fit up real well. I'm trying to determine if I have the correct parts or not. Where they mount to the front motor mount I'm for sure missing the spacers and that it where they do not line up. The bolt goes through very crooked maybe by 1"
Also it appears that the adapter that bolts to the frame and slides into the foot peg has either been home made or broken and altered at some point. Having a hard time tracking down the right parts. Anybody have part  numbers for those pieces? or can you post pictures of your bike with these same pegs?

AC fitment is a problem more times than not.  I don't have any 88/89 AC nerfs but I'd say that you do need spacers or shims on the front motor mount area.  Also, check to see what part number is stamped on front mount (stamped on the side facing the frame).  Call AC with the number for replacement parts. For reference these are for a 87.  Can you post of your set up?

Only 86-87 has footpeg mounts that bolt on. Sounds like you might have a set that was made for the 86-87 & not for the 88-89 chassis. Pics would help alot though so we can see what your talking about.

Neff bars always need to be tweaked a little no matter what bike there on. U can pick up spacers and misc bolts and washers at hardware store, I've even used tubing stock from industrial supply house. If the mounts are of by a lot u can bend tubing/ mounts slightly with a little heat and effort.

Try switch the peg mounts. A little off there will be a lot at the front mount. Also try rotating them 180 degrees.

They are for sure 88-89. The adapter piece bolts to the frame and has a straight round tube that slides Into the foot peg. Turns out mine aren't ac after all but I'm still not sure what kind.   Having trouble with my photo bucket so I can't post pics right now.   I'm going to Try and bend them to make them fit
