Title: ESR310 dome question
Post by: Onski326 on March 28, 2016, 08:18:42 AM
I'm needing to squeeze more compression out of my ESR310PV motor. I started with the pump gas dome which gave me 175psi cylinder pressure (I think it's a 29cc dome). Moved to the race gas dome which was a 27cc dome I believe and it bumped it up to 195psi. I'd like to get to 210-215psi but there aren't any other options on dome size that I've found so it would have to be a custom job I guess or does someone else make different sized domes for the ESR cylinders? I've already cut my deck down on my jug and can't go any more. I'm a woods racer and am trying to get as much bottom end power out of her as possible. She's got more than enough on the top end but still lacks grunt coming out of the corners.

Pete at Hybrid can machine custom domes. Buy ESR blank domes and send them to Pete

ESR will custom cut you anything you want, all you got to do is tell him. When I had my ESR 310pv, I told Eddie I wanted my compression to be more than his regular race dome. I told him I specifically that I wanted 14:1 CR on my 310. He did a quick calc and told me what cc dome it would be; and then he made me one and shipped it. That easy.

I also forgot to add there's more to just changing the cc of the dome. Squish, profile, etc but I'm not a builder

How fresh is your topend?  Has it been broken in all the way?

I second having Pete cut your dome. Unless Eddie can match the dome profile to the piston. Either way it will be an improvement. I have a 310 built by Pete that is very impressive but is not a torque monster. So a bigger bore cylinder might be an option for you.

What pipe are you running? and what RPM does your PV open?
