Hello everyone, I have had my 86r since 2000 or 2001 bought stock and spent several years building, and upgrading it. In 06 I started racing MX and the tranny let go 2 weeks before the first race. So I brought the tranny in for a rebuild and bought a brand new ltr450 to race. Shortly after I reassembled my r rode it a few times and parked it in the shop with a broken swingarm and broken front brake caliper, where it has sat for 9 years now. After a couple years of racing I got into snowmobiling and lost interest in riding quads, so I sold the ltr a few years back.
Now for some odd reason I have felt the urge to resurrect the old girl and tear it up again (if I still can). So last week I ordered a lonestar swingarm, put some new fuel in it and it fired on the 6th kick. Swingarm is a few weeks out and the brakes still need to be addressed, but I am very excited to get back on the seat, and to be a member of the site.

Welcome Troy! I'm from Olympia, WA. You plan on racing that R? Post some pics up!

Welcome, you can never get the 2 stroke out of your blood. It always comes back. Good luck with your rebuild and if you need any help just ask. A lot of knowledge and good people on this site.

Wasn't going to sell them, that's what the right price thing kinda means. I have some other stuff I will sell though, like an AC grab bar for 88, 89 that I bought not knowing it wouldn't work on my 86. Also have a 36mm ESR mukini tmx carb might have the ESR jet board and jets. Would have to look. I will make a post in the for sale area when I get around to digging through all that stuff.

welcome to the best 250r site. this site has the privilege to have jerry hall and neil prichard contribute. pumashine builds custom parts for the 250r and we have so many other important members. troybilt for example is building high performance air boxes proven on a dyno. just the tip...
