What do I use for mounting the front of the skid plate to the frame

I think they usually have a small piece of channel that spans the width of the frame to work as a clamp. You could also cut some tubing to make a crush collar for the front through bolts to keep the channel from collapsing when you tighten the bolt. Be sure to use nyloc's too to keep it from turning into a pole vault.

Thanks for the info guys, got a piece of steel for now since I'm racing this weekend. I'll definitely try to do what you did croat1, that looks really good
