Race Report

Opening Comments:
The race this weekend was a wild and muddy slop. It definitely didn't favor the 2 stroke.

1st moto:
Got a terrible initial jump out of the gate. Managed to bump up a stop or 2 temporarily until spinning out after seeing a guy wreck in front of mess. Got back on the track and took off again. Within a lap or 2, I come around a turn and bump into a stuck rider. I put the quad back and take off again only to be sucked right back into him again! Pulled the quad back again, and finally got took off again. I kept my position until the last lap. I was about 8 seconds away from the finish line entering into the 2nd to last turn when I upshift, hammer on the gas, and I'm to going anywhere. WTH?!?!?!. The engine was revving, but I wasn't going anywhere! I upshifted and downshifted trying to find another gear, same thing! I let off the gas and look down, I can see the sprocket and chain spinning, and then it dawns on me..... chain popped off the rear sprocket. I couldn't finish the race. Had to be towed off the track.
JUST FYI: Only about 1.5 minutes of the first video is watchable. I got a mud clod to the lens.

2nd moto:
Another bad start (Gotta work on that). Start out about mid pack. No stuck or flipped people this time. I struggle through the first lap and a half before the fatigue just starts to kill me. I was exhausted from first race and fighting through the mud. I did not finish well, but I had a good time overall. New engine held up very well. No complaints there. And I didn't blow it up in the mud either! Another plus.

Here is what the quad looked like when I got it home.

Dang that was a mudder for sure. Kind of glad I didn't go now lol. Motor sounds healthy too. You got a good jump on the first gate, did something happen after that?

Just not putting it all together very well yet. Got a few kinks to work out. I think my throttle cable was a bit dry that day as well. It seemed a little stiffer than usual.

Gotcha. Same here, especially on the starts. Nice! I'll try to make that one then instead.

LOL. It would be nice if our quads were setup for mud though tbone! We had low ground clearance and small tires. Neither help the cause.
