Title: Paddle tires ?
Post by: bcm on July 21, 2016, 05:16:21 PM
I got 1988 trx250r with a esr 330 cylinder and a 4 mil stroker with a trx11 pipe and porting and I have been running 13-38 gearing but just changed to 14-36 to see if that helps. I was wondering what would be a better paddle tires set up, I have a sets of 21-12-8 8 paddle haulers single buff right now and saw a pair locally for sell that are 22-11-8 6 paddle haulers triple buff that a buddy said would be great for my set up and was wondering Which would be a better choice? I really think I should find a pair of 22-11-8 8 paddles haulers Thanks

I got 1988 trx250r with a esr 330 cylinder and a 4 mil stroker with a trx11 pipe and porting. I was wondering what would be a better paddle tires set up, I two sets locally for sell one set of 21-10-8 8 paddle haulers single buff and also have a set of 22-10-8 6 paddle haulers triple buff. Which would be a better choice? Thanks

Are these going to be for drag?

Drag racing at the dunes , don't actually get to go to any sand drag strips now that our local track closed down

The great paddle tire debate! Lol. I run  21-12-8 9 paddle haulers with my 310 4mil and for general dunning/tree shots (badass hill climbs with trees in the way) and occasional drag racing they are great. My gearing is 14-40 so it pulls pretty good. Seems like fewer paddles would mean less hook up. Good luck, Loren

Down south they like less paddle then we do up here on my puma for a dune bike with a 140 lbs rider I run a 10 paddle ultra lite, if I was drag racing it I'd put a 12 maybe a 13.

I'm just asking I usually run 22-11-8 8 or 10 paddles on my banshee witch was just a stock stroke stock bore build but was very fast and I haven't had a 250r in awhile but everyone around here where I live runs 6 paddles on there 250r  310 builds and that just seams to be to little of paddles and they are very slow. I just trying to see what info I can get from everyone before I go and order up a new set because there is much up for sell lately for nice paddles

The big question that too often gets left out of the paddle question...
Swingarm length??
The swing arm length goes hand in hand with what paddle will work to what degree and for what condition and desire.
Its like needing to know what bars are being used for a what stem height question and vise verse. A piece of the puzzle.

Is there anyone local to you that can let you try a 9 or 10 paddle?

Skeans1 what gearing are you running on your 250r?

On my plus 5 14 38 but I could run a 36 in the rear without issues.

I'm guessing a 22 8 paddle is where you want to be for a drag oriented tire.

I'll bring the 8 paddle so you can try them. I won't be using them that day.
