I'm rebuilding my rear brakes and need new Pistons and fiber inserts. Do these come in the new Pistons from service Honda? It doesn't show them on the microfiche. If not where do I find them, I've googled everywhere and found nothing. Not trying to run a coin in there as an alternative. (http://forums.trx250r.org/vbulletin_imports/71_8051_2017-04-18_3409.jpg)

PNWrider, rear brake pistons (#'s 43107-HA2-016 and 43108-HA2-016) are discontinued. now if you can find some NOS pistons they may or may not have the fiber end. all depends how old they are. Honda eliminated the fiber on the newer stock. these were taken out of the package....

something to think about....go with a complete TRX450R setup.

this is interesting....I opened up a NOS rear caliper assembly (out of the box): no fibers.

Also consider a caliper rebuild kit, worked perfect for my original calipers!

The fiber piston inserts don't come in the caliper rebuild kits.
-
No they do not, but he doesnt want to use a coin, so in lieu of not using a coin and not having access to fibers any more, the rebuild kit is a viable alternative..
-
Damn I just noticed they're not making these anymore. Not sure how I missed that, looks like I might have to look into other options. Thanks for the input guys.

No Trx250r pistons in the list. I can’t find rear caliper pistons. If I recall they were on EBay...not anymore. Anyone have info on where to get them
Thanks

Hey Joe I bought a couple sets of those a few years ago on ebay. The seller was cyclesrus-greatparts and has a shop down by chippewa lake, CyclesRus if you want to go direct. Maybe he can still get some.

Thanks Bill, I’ll contact them tomorrow (I might even stop in since I’ll be close to the shop).

These inserts could be easily made using a hole saw without a pilot bit in a drill press. Find a sheet of phenolic or a fiber material similar to the oem discs of the same thickness & make a lifetime supply.

The 2 Piston rebuild kits that were available on AMAZON.....are no longer available..... :(
Maybe there are pistons from the CFR nissin calipers that will work ???

Well, That's a couple of bummers there.
Has anybody ever measured how deep the front pistons are compared to the rear, since they use the same diameter and part numbers for seals?
I may do some digging this weekend.
Ive seen them with the e-brake pin/port plugged and have two of the non e-brake pistons in them too :o which is what made me wonder about the front pistons.
On a side note, I have at least one used fiber disc if anybody needs or wants it, you can have it.

Would you mind measuring the diameter & thickness of that fiber disc & posting it here? Or let me borrow it so I can make some copies? Thank you

It is right around 3mm thick and just under 22mm ( 21.95 - 22mm ) in diameter
to fit in the piston which is a 22mm by 2mm deep recess

Perfect thank you 4WHLr.
