Title: PEP stock shock heart transplant
Post by: PNWrider on September 23, 2016, 04:12:09 PM
Has anyone here had this service done? SFRacing does this modification along with a few others. I'm just wondering how it would compare to a PEP rear shock. I currently have an Ella stage 3 that is just not working for me. It's been serviced but compared to my buddies 450r fox podium the Ella just  doesn't perform well. Just looking for comparisons if you've had this mod done. I've talked to Seth at SF Racing and I know he does great work, just looking for first hand experience from others. Thanks for any info here's a pic of a rebuilt stock rear.

I did a stock with pep rebuild, and absolutely love it. I can't  compare it with a normal pep shock though, but have been told they are close to the same, and some actually like them better.
Although mine looks absolutely nothing like the pic you posted above.

That one is it. Seth did great work, and I would recommend  him to anybody. Mine is set up for xc, and is a soft natured shock. It handles the load well, and is smooth as butter. I've  hit jumps with it, and whoops, and the rebound and compression is spot on from his settings.  I really do like it, and its 110% a better shock than the works I had to compare it to.

Thanks for the post--I didn't know about this place.  Looks like I'm going to get him to rebuild my rear shock using PEP parts.

the shock pictured in the 1st post is a $800 shock. PEP heart trans plant, 8 click can, ano body, powdered spring, new line, there is more that I can't explain. the mount for the resi I believe is $145. it is essentially a new shock
