Paypal buyer protection....read the fine print guys. you may not be covered.
scenario: you find something that you want and you don't have the $$ to pay in full. you make arrangements with the seller to make payments. the seller sends you a Paypal invoice (contract with payment due in full by a certain date). once payments are made in full is when it gets interesting: seller does not ship said high dollar item. what to do know??? the logically step is a Paypal claim right? Try it and see what happens. Paypal will not cover items purchased under a "payment plan".
F'd up right? the only recourse is to file a police report in the sellers city and hope they help. the other option is to file with the Federal Government. Mail fraud is a felony.
So, careful on what and who you buy from. this R addiction sometimes makes you do stupid things (purchases).
in the future: make sure your high end purchases are made with a Credit Card (linked to your Paypal account). Do not use Paypal or your bank account. neither will help you. never make payments using paypal only. they will F you!!!
lesson learned!!!!

Years ago I bought and paid for a $250 steering stem with PayPal. Luckily I used my credit card. Seller would not return emails. I filed a PayPal claim. They pretty much rejected my claim even though I never received what I paid for. So I called up my credit card company (Chase) and they were really nice about it and took the money back from PayPal and basically refunded it to me. Then a week later I get an email from PayPal that basically asked me to use their dispute services for this stuff. I emailed them back and told them that I did and there buyer protection was a joke. Been with Chase and use my credit card every time now.
