Title: Exhaust flange size
Post by: supernutt on August 04, 2013, 04:36:53 PM
I got a aluminum exhaust flange when I bought my TRX5 pipe from ESR.  The problem that I have is that it is smaller than the exhaust port on the cylinder. I have a couple other aluminum flanges laying around and they are all about the same size as the exhaust ports what would these be used for?  It seems that even the stock exhaust flange is bigger than this one

ESR has different internal diameter flanges, smaller diameter is suppose to help with lowend. They have stock diameter as well, not sure if they make a larger internal diameter flange, but I have scene a stock flange bored out 1mm over stock.

The stock exhaust port is 1.740 tall and 1.800 wide. Some builders take that out to 1.860 wide. I have a stock flange here bored out to 1.860 which is 3mm over. You might want to ask ESR about what matt250r21 is saying about the different sizes and why?
