Title: CT 350 PV thoughts
Post by: mwiley on October 25, 2017, 04:53:00 PM
Hey guys,
Just looking for some opinions on the CT 350 PV motor package. I am looking at buying a used one and would be using this as an all around motor, trail, dunes, play riding. I was told it has their basic mid-range porting with a 39mm carb and v-force reeds and is on the 2nd bore. Any input would be appreciated on this motor or CT stuff in general.

If it’s in good shape and u want a good all around big bore engine, then it’s a good set up.  Don’t expect it to be the fastest thing around ur should have good power top to bottom and be easy to keep it in the powerband.  I wouldn’t overpay for the powervalve.  I’ve had a few and they don’t seem to work that great.  If the price is right, go for it.

Make sure the price is very right or you should consider going with the esr options.

I wish I had mine all together to give you a ride report off this very engine.

Mike, you'll do good getting the CT, cause you got to remember it is a Pro-x cylinder & those cost 2 times what an ESR top end will cost. Even though it is their basic mid range porting, it will be quite a bit better than the regular generic porting of the ESR cylinders, but If Eddie does the porting himself, then the ESR would be a match to the CT cylinder.
Far as performance, find out how much compression the cylinder has & if its kinda low, up the compression & you should be well pleased with the performance. Have the cylinder ported again for like say upper mid range & the valve will give you pretty good bottom end, but when the valve opens, hang on cause your going for a ride.
