I tried searching but didn't really get an answer for my question. I need to know if I can bolt up an 88/89 clutch cover on an 86/87 motor? I know the kick starters are different between the 2 versions but I don't know what is exactly different. I also know the 86/87 uses a spacer on the kick starter shaft and the 88/89 covers have the spacer built in. I was looking at Macdizzzy and found that it said there was a difference in mounting bosses as well. If I have to machine the spacer that is no big deal but if the dowels or some other type of mounting is different then that would be a problem. Let me know if someone has already tried this.

Pretty certain they are all the same minus the spacer. I've tried all different covers on my 87 motor.
