Hello everyone I’m getting ready to start putting a machine together and I’m going to be running a 02 cr250 ignition.I want to make sure I have the necessary components to run it.I have the harness, cdi, coil, stator, flywheel and I’m going to order the esr adapter plate.Am I missing anything such as the rectifier or is that not necessary on our application?thanks in advance. One other thing I’d like to try out is a 01 cr125 cdi for more low end.Does anyone know if this swap is possible with an 02 ignition set up?thanks again.

there is no need for a rectifier as the cr ignition will not support lights.

Ok thank you .so with the parts I have it doesn’t look like I’m missing nothing right?

It appears you have everything. there is a thread created by rss396 that explains the differences in curves. I will try and find it.

appears we lost the images. here is the link: http://www.forums.trx250r.org/index.php/topic,96.0.html

Thanks.i figures if the 125 cdi was plug and play I’d give it a shot.i do mostly trail riding and some beach riding..low end boost would be awesome.

you probably wont need it with the cr ignition. it really wakes up the engine. a cr ignition, 38 A/S carb, atc head gasket and ESR pipe and it will be like a new machine.

I doubt you can plug the 01 CR125 cdi box into the 02 wire harness Honda made a lot of changes that year.

I let you know on that. I'm working on making a harness to use 00 to 01 CDI with 02+ stator
