Title: back surgery?

Just wondering if anyone in here has had back surgery? Lady pulled out in front of me Nov 1. her fault, totaled my truck. I have a 6mm tear and hernia on my L4L5. Done PT and 2 rounds of shots and pain keeps getting worse and worse. Now Im up for a endoscopic discectomy. read several horror stories on the internet, but surgeon and chiropractor say its no big deal.

Post by: The norm on March 01, 2018, 05:35:54 PM: Sorry to hear about your back man. A close friend of mine had back surgery two years ago and walked out of the operating room with 90% less pain. I'm not sure if its the same surgery you are in for. Good luck dude

Post by: Action69 on March 01, 2018, 05:55:31 PM: I have 2 herniated discs in my neck and whenever I go riding they act up.in my opinion give the pt more time.another thing to consider is the quality of the PT you received.ive personally been rear ended hard 5 different times and I’ve had 3 motorcycle accidents and I can say most of the times the pt seemed generic and run of the mill..my most recent stint at pt I went for a year straight twice a week and saw great results.no more migraines,pinched nerves in my neck and shoulder blade diminished .I would hold off on the surgery anything can happen and remember doctors bill your insurance handsomely when the open you up.good luck and be well,hopefully in due time you’ll be back to normal.

Post by: Action69 on March 01, 2018, 05:57:29 PM: Another thing that worked well for me during my year of pt was spinal decompression.its a machine connected to a computer and expands and contacts ever so slightly and it basically stretches your spine to relieve pressure/pain on the discs.

Post by: Tbone07 on March 02, 2018, 10:32:54 AM: I know this won't necessarily help your current situation or injuries....but I hang on one of those inversion boards almost daily and I feel 100x better. Used to get back pain/soreness when standing or walking for too long. Not anymore.

Back pain is nothing to mess with

Post by: DOUGLAS on March 02, 2018, 08:54:23 PM: wow that suck hope all will be well soon. my wife has had 3 surgeries on her back due to 2 accidents. week bone structure she has a been in pain management for 15 years.also has a broken screw in her back. hope you just need a tune up. I also have an inversion table works well
