Looking at the main two shocks amount of shaft travel it seems that the one center shock #3 is the one doing most of the work absorbing impacts. But that’s  only a broad based assumption. Complexity and the added weight would have be evaluated as well

The engine looks like it could of come from a street bike & if it did & they built it to be a legit race quad it would take a front end like that to handle the weight. Seen quite a few street bike powered quads at the dunes & as far as duners go there not very rider friendly.

I wonder if that could be a ride height adjustment type of thing. More pressure in the 3rd shock to raise the height and less to lower. Say for corners low ride height and then for wide open straights higher ride heights
