Title: LED or Robl intake for air-box eliminator?
Post by: hickwheeler on August 02, 2018, 04:15:28 AM
Looking at getting one of these setups for a airbox eliminator. Seeing which one others would go with.

I have both and like both. I just got done mounting my LED and I really like it. The filter is massive!

You have any pics of the Robl mounted? Or would you be willing to mount it and take pics?

If it is what you got from Jared. It is probably a prototype

Ahh dang thanks for info. I Didn't know it was a proto. The wait for a led is 3-4 weeks right now I hear, not sure if time is a issue?

Can’t comment on fitment on stock chassis / linkage but this is how mine is mounted.  Credit goes to Pete @ Hybrid for utilizing the ESR hangers.

Dang that looks slick!! I hate to fix something that isn't broke but I might see about one of these to replace my ESR intake/air box elimination.

Sameltoe, I like those MS-21919 clamps you used for mounting the bracket haha I have bags of them that are out of date for aviation use.

Absolutely. I might even have some with a red rubber cushion. Anyone wanting a couple of them just shoot me a message.

I can't seem to locate the red versions, but I will eventually.

I have white, black, purple, yellow and blue.

I like how the Robl unit straightens out and keeps the filter parallel with the sub-frame rails. I think Troy originally designed them to be used with the stock air-box, or his personally designed air-box. Not sure where he is on those.

I run my Robl intake with a custom air-box and big 450r air filter, huge improvement over my previous setup with OEM intake

Well in all honesty it wasn't hard to improve my terrible old setup. But the low-end throttle response was improved tenfold. It pulls like a freight train from mid-top now too.
