I’m thinking about trying some skat track gliders. I’ve been using sand skate 2’s the last 20 years. Not worried about drag racing. Just fast duning and want a good tire to follow. We ride “follow the leader” style. I hate haulers, edges, and sand stars. My skates would tend to throw sand low instead of right in someone’s face. I’ve heard gliders are good to follow. Thinking 20 or 21”. 8” wheel. Probably 9 or 10 paddles. Not worried about maximum traction either. Just wanted to get opinions from those that have tried them.

I ran 20x10x8 6 paddle Gliders on my sons all stock blaster. They were a great tire for that machine. He was able to climb everything he wanted. I am a huge fan of 8" wheels because they seem to float on the sand and offer a little relief from all the chop we get at our dunes. I personally only run haulers, but I can't say anything bad about Gliders. They do a great job for "play riding ".

Get some cheap used 8 paddle haulers & do a bunch of donuts on asphalt & you'll have gliders. ;D

I have a set of worn out 8 paddle haulers. They worked alright on my old 330. I didn't have any issue climbing hills

I run a 12 paddle glider on 06 yfz450 at dumont dunes and they seem to work ok

I think I’ll call Fullerton SS tomorrow. Might just put some sealer in the old skates.

Where is everyone buying their skat-traks?

7 paddle gliders are a very fun dune tire. You are not too hooked up for playing around but have the traction that you need to dune. I am a big fan of these for having fun in the dunes. I had them in 21" and ridden them with both 88 89 and 86 87 stock swing arms. There is a big difference between each riders fun factor when it comes to rear sand tires. These obviously wouldn't be ideal for a drag setup quad.

Thanks. I’m running an 18” lobo swingarm. I was thinking 9-10 paddles but maybe I don’t need that many. I had figured total paddle area to compare. Figured I’d get same area as a 7 or 8 paddle hauler.
