Title: Manual Tire Changer
Post by: F-Red on May 31, 2019, 09:57:41 AM
Does anybody mount their tires manually? I'm having more trouble finding a shop to mount, ATV sized tires. I was thinking about taking this on myself.

For $45 that tire changer looks like it could be worth having. Been changing my tires for years the old fashioned way with a bead breaker & cheap tire spoons. It works but making it easier sure would be nice......
On a side note if you mount your own paddles be sure to index them or they beat the crap out of you when you ride over hard surfaces.

I have this version from HF and it works great.

I believe it was around $45, too.

Edit: It is $39.99 and is rated up to auto sized tires. I believe it will serve you better than the small unit in your first post.

Thanks guys, I was looking for some good feedback.

Myles, I got the one you have. I had a 20% off coupon. Came to $34 out the door.

Josh, I was going to get that one. Saw people put it in a bench vise. Looked like it worked well. But for the price, I couldn’t pass on the bigger one.

The tire changer didn’t work on powder coated rims. Found a shop in town. They did a job. $5 a rim to mount.
