was helping a buddy of mine rebuild his bottom end tonight he bought a whole bottom end rebuild kit from Boss Bearings due to them being less than a hour away and he swung by there and picked up the kit it came with all bearings, seals and gaskets. all the his tranny bearings looked good so we decided just to replace the crank bearings and all the seals. so i was lookin at the new bearings from kit and they had no markings whatsoever so i just layed them in 1 of the case halfs and it fell all the way in. it hadnt been in freezer or anything. so i pulled it back out and we tried doing the same thing with 1 of the old bearings that we had just pressed out it would hardly even star into the case. hes going to order all oem crank bearings and seals as were afraid to use the seals that came in kit now. has anyone else seen this problem before. they used to sell good quality stuff and i have used some of there stuff before on other builds and have never had a problem.

I just put mine together with the same kit,I froze the bearings and still had to drive them in. Only issue I had was the way the packaged the gaskets. If you call them they will send you new ones,be persistant with the lady.

No issues on my spare motor with them..

I've always bought OEM bearings or Hot Rods. I know they cost more but Whens the last time you heard anybody complain about oem bearings?

I emailed them before I bought from them, they responded beck stating all there bearings were made in Japan and at minimum OEM quality. I believe they did say on the side of them.

like i said ive never had any problem with there stuff before. maybe my buddy just got a bad set? I am using all oem in my sons motor but that is mainly because i got most of them in a parts lot i bought and ended up all sorts of oem bearings and gaskets

OEM 8 ball mains and OEM crank seals are the best way to go in this very important area. Safety first.

HotRods bearing are hit or miss I have gotten KOYO bearing in one package then the next is a made in china bearing so I quit buying from them
