Title: relieving the exhaust bridge

i have a 86 cylinder, so when you talk about relieving the exhaust bridge that does that mean when you bore the cylinder

That article hits the nail on the head! Heat causes expansion and the thin exhaust bridge will grow faster and cause a seizure possibly or at the least it will cause scoring. Scoring in the cylinder wall will cause loss of compression.
