Title: 431 puma clutch options
Post by: beattyracing on February 23, 2020, 08:26:22 PM
Hey guys. What are you all running for your big bore pumas.? I use the clutch mods on my smaller 363’s but the puma is too much to hold. Lock out sling shot seems like the best option... any other ideas.?

I don't have a puma. I do have a 391 that has a slingshot clutch. It holds just fine for me.

Slingshot on whatever basket you want and if you need more then swap the balls for tungsten balls.  I did that on my 443 duner and Super.. balls are like $100 I think.

have you guys had any troubles with the gears lasting while using the sling shot lockup clutch?  Would seem that it would be way harder on the gears due to no slippage at all compared to a non lockup with stiffer springs.

I haven't had an issue on the dune puma nor on the drag puma.
