Title: Tool box
Post by: evaneyeball on March 08, 2020, 01:19:51 PM
I'm making a tool box to go under my seat and behind the air filter. I am having trouble coming up with a design.because the air filter sticks out farther than I thought. Any ideas. I want it to be as big as possible without being super noticeable. I have a welder and everything to make it but just need a little help

Eyeball,  you have a pretty short filter. My filter takes up all the space in that area.

The first picture is my R with a yfz air filter and the second picture is of my son's R with the same James Lucky air filter mount. Coopers R has an oem style k&n filter. I think I would get a bigger filter and then get a backpack for your tools

I haven't had a problem with it being a small air filter. But I guess I dont know the advantages of having it be bigger. And i do run outerweares on it. But I will get a backpack.

Possibly you can modify one o& the aluminum air boxes or use that design as a starting point.

behind the seat using the grab bar bolts would be a good spot.
