Looks like the new Lynx cylinder from CP Industries is almost ready to hit the market
-
That thing looks good
-
Heard from a little birdy that it's basically a puma with a stock reed entrance with better off-the-shelf port work
-
Has that birdy built one yet? Does it use a puma pipe? Can a broke ass working stiff like myself afford one lol
-
looks nice but probably a stupid question but what cc will these come in or does anyone know as of yet
-
Smaller Intake for higher velocity at low rpm? Am I looking at it right?
Always cool to see new tech for the old R!

I believe Puma cylinders are usually 400cc+..
So I would think this cylinder would be in that ballpark as well.

380cc

One of the Facebook posts said they were hoping to offer this cylinder for $1500 for the complete kit. Plated and ready to bolt on and it doesn’t need to be ported. Not bad.
-
Well.......looks like I need to start throwing a few $$$ into the fun fund for this cylinder......
But I can't help but think of what we'll need for transmission and clutch components in order to handle this power. I know there's stuff available but it sure as hell ain't cheap.

Stock basket cut down with a slingshot will handle your clutch side, healthy stock transmission Cryo'd should be more than enough for most. If you're doing a lot of hard 2nd gear launches and/or huge power drag racing, then I'd consider aftermarket. And probably Yukon cryo'd at that point given their history. Some of the newer options have either worn terribly or haven't been tested on big drag applications. If you have the money to spend, IMO you're better off putting money to a Crankworks built crank.
Unless you're doing a lot of hard 2nd gear starts,

something else i didnt know i needed:)

Oh really? Wonder what's going on with them?
Luckily I have a full Baldwin transmission and NOS OEM shafts.

The McCoy ones pitted pretty bad, think that had to due with something in the hardening process. The LED / Schorr ones sound more promising but the initial testing was on a 330MX bike. Haven't heard any issues with the LED / Schorr ones but also haven't seen them in a high HP drag app yet.

Cylinder is 380cc

Nice off the shelf option. Ports of Spynx, Lynx, Puma
-
Also available not plated

I was able to take a look at one of these cylinders at Hybrid Engineering the other day. Pete and I discussed the differences between the lynx and the puma and whether it would be worth it for me to go back in the dog house with my wife for another new cylinder lol. Decisions decisions........

Cylinders are ready for purchase
