Post by: evaneyeball on March 16, 2020, 05:14:32 PM
so i am aware that some different cylinder port types have different names but im not sure of all of the names and what that specific port style does to the motor and power band. this is probably confusing the way i worded it but its the best i can word it

There have been many different port shapes, number of ports and port discharge angles over the history of two stroke engines.  Some designs perform better than other regardless of the application like moto cross, road racing, woods riding etc.  The exhaust system will usually have a larger influence on the shape of the power curve (the application or type of riding) when matched up with the porting than the actual port style.
