Title: How far have you traveled?
Post by: croat1 on April 12, 2020, 09:14:44 PM: Curious to see how far you have traveled for R parts, complete quads/rollers or to go riding. Here are some of my trips.

Parts purchases:
Cleveland to Crown Pointe, IN. 338 miles one way. I continued the trip to Chicago to see family.
Cleveland to Danville, IN. 331 miles one way (one day trip).
Cleveland to Maryville, TN. 511 miles one way (one day trip). One very long day
Cleveland to PA. mostly 2-3 hour one way trips to various towns.

For complete quads:
Cleveland to Boxford, Ma. 669 miles one way. Spent the night at a friends and drove home the next day.

Riding trips:
Cleveland to Hatfield McCoy trails in W.VA. 301 miles one way.
Cleveland to Silver lake sand dunes. 375 miles one way.
Cleveland to Portland, OR. MapQuest shows 2465 miles one way driving (I flew).

Drove to Salt Lake City to trade my 05 yfz450 for my 87R that is now the 363 sphynx about 280 miles one way

To ride the dunes 800 miles one way to Winchester for the 1st west Coast meet

Mostly drive 340 miles one way to dumont dunes CA about 5 times a season

Farthest for quad purchase is probably 400 miles round trip
My toyhauler was a 920 mile round trip and I did it twice. Long story.

Riding in OR and Idaho is 900 miles one way.
Mostly Glamis which is 200 miles one way.

For dune trips - a lot longer
OR Dunes - 200ish miles
Glamis - 1200 miles
St Anthony's - 750 miles
Little Sahara / Sand Mountain, Utah - 900ish miles

for riding about 1350 Castle Rock CO well at tech school in Laramie WY

Post by: broken1 on April 14, 2020, 11:07:59 AM: Went to Glamis twice in 08 which is 1,152 miles one way. Farthest trip to get an R was Vancouver Washington & that's only 70 miles one way. Other than that Sandlake is just over an hour, Florence is just under 2 hours & Winchester is just under 2.5 hours. We also have 20 acres to ride on so we're very lucky to have that.

Jeeps and hot rods are a different story. 4700 miles and 3600 miles were the longest. Not on an airplane either lol
