Hello everyone I figured I’d share this build from the beginning.I just got my frame back from the powder coater along with my houser stem.Im going for a modified factory look,I have 88 oem plastic ,88 swing arm,88 brakes and I have a cherry 86 motor .Everything else will be aftermarket but following the oem color scheme.I have Paul turner 89 trxrace exhaust as well as a sparks TT pipe.I have a fourwerx carbon hood ,radiator shrouds and a carbon fiber intake and aluminum air box that was one of three prototypes currently made..I ordered a new special edition RTC radiator grill in black anodize..I’ll be running a set of JD performance +2+1 standard travel a arms in silver with axis front shocks and an ohlins rear shock.I will also be sending my seat out to fourwerx to get a new seat cover and possibly foam. There are other bits of bing from NPM,RTC and Sonny Fricia..I will be installing a LSR axle, anti fade and bearing carrie along with ITP C2 rims and havnt settles on tires yet..I will be using oem hardware where applicable..I’ll be running a PRM atv front bumper and skid plate with a Pro armor 450r grab bar in black..

The frame was from Oregon so it was very clean and not beat down..

Call Pro Tect for an aluminum chassis skid. Another option is a P.R.O ballistic poly skid.

My aluminum airbox and carbon fiber air intake just arrived from fourwerx it looks pretty sweet...

Jason at fourwerx wasn’t sure of the size filter they used on the prototype airbox so I’ll need to figure that out.ill take some measurements and hopefully someone will have some input.he said it was a 4.5 inside diameter but a short length filter is needed.does anyone know of any manufacturers that I can check out that have sizing charts rather than machine specific filters?I haven’t really looked yet..Thanks for any input..

K&N has one

Try Garrett at fuel customs I’m sure he has different types of filters

I got some more parts in.Durablue axle nuts,RTC radiator fins,,Duncan racing repack kit and chrome down turn end cap,NPM black throttle cover and 2 bolt silencer hanger. The regular single hole exhaust hangers and black brake resivour are currently out of stock.I should be picking up some parts from the vapor blaster tomorrow.I had him cleaning up front and rear durablue hubs,PT trx race pipe and silencer. When I got the PT pipe it had a raw finish with visible weld burns but had a light coat of surface rust and the silencer was quite dull.I mocked up the from a arms until I get the new. Bushings and bearings from JD performance, also mounted up the rear shock and linkage.Today I’ll clean up the swingarm and mount it up,I think I’ll order my bearing carrier as well so I can get the rest of the rear together.I still need to order flexx bars, tires, bunch of Oem hardware and few grommets.hand controls, anti vibe bar mounts, steering stem mount and a bunch of other random stuff. There are a few fourwerx bits I’d like to buy as well once they replenish their inventory.

-
Parts look great! I'll have to look into building one as well. Maybe turn my small blast cabinet into one if it's possible.
-
Those parts look awesome

Nice Kevin ..

I’ve been mocking up parts as they come in,I’m trying to make one order for the oem hardware I just havnt spent the time to go over the machine and parts diagrams to see what I’m missing.

I received the Delron bushings I ordered from eBay being JD performance never got back to me about the replacement set up they sell,I was interested In trying out their set up which used a bearing in between the two bushings.i finally got someone on the phone after multiple calls and two emails, when they did got back to me a few weeks ago they were out of the shop and were supposed to follow up with me to place the order, unfortunately that didn’t happenLast night I started to install the bushings but they were such a snug fit I put some dish soap on them and had to proceed with hammer ring each one in what a PIA,do you guys think a clamp or vice would work?its tough to get enough force on the inside bushings.I got one arm done last night but I’m hoping to find and easier way.Any input would be appreciated..
-
I machined a set of bushings for my arms and I made the od .001 oversized so they were snug. I had a horrible time getting them in! After fighting and fighting I said to myself, self why not use my bench vise. So that's what I did. The vise will keep the bushings relatively straight and apply even pressure.
-
Ok thanks Loren I’ll try that ..the material seems real tough I was hitting it with a ball peen hammer and no visible damage.
-
Some parts are trickling in,I received my walsh over flow bottle and yesterday my special edition black rtc radiator louvers arrived
-
Those look really good
-
I received my lsr billet bearing carrier and steering stem mount .i also ordered a ccp stabilizer when they were reduced to $169.99 the other day.
-
It’s been awhile but I’ve started assembling and made some progress.I have a bunch of oem hardware I recently received so I’ll start getting more of this build together..
