Title: Brake Piston Cover Came Off Piston
Post by: havinnoj on May 29, 2020, 07:35:50 PM
Rebuilding 400EX calipers and upon inserting the piston, the "cover" separated from the piston body.  A new OEM piston is $55ish, would like to spare that if possible.  Are there options for reattaching or do I bite the bullet?

Seems like loctite Henkel should have a product for high heat. They have all sorts of bearing retaining1. It's risky. You don't want it to fall off. 2. The product might be as costly as the new piston 3. How well does it hold up to heat.

You will what a product that has high sheer strength

Personally I would get a replacement from k&l, braking...etc
