Title: What is happening?
Post by: evaneyeball on May 31, 2020, 09:26:26 PM
So I'm trying to put my 250r swing arm back on and apparently as I was talingg it apart I wasn't paying attention because now I have 3 swing arm caps and two pop right on but the third one the ID is too small to fit over the plastic bearing retainer. And when I look inside there is another smaller cap pressed into it that I cant get out. It looks like someone lost one of the caps and instead of getting new ones they just put the outside metal part of a complete one and shoved a smaller one in it so that it would be the same thickness as 2 but just in one. Any idea of replacements because I cant find any? Also any input on what is happening here let me know please. And the far right one in the first picture is the small one

The one with the smaller seal might be for the linkage, the wishbone end where the links & shock tie together.

It's not though the outside is the same size and the same shape as the other 2. And I actually was able to hammer out the smaller inner seal. Someone put a smaller seal inside of the big seal so that it would be the Same as two of the right sized ones. If that makes any sense.

The pivot works sets wont be here in time. I am still going to order them thought so I was looking around the shop for anything that might work and found out a 87 banshee j arm dust seal works with just a little bit of play. It will work for now but just temporary. If you do this you would want to make sure you put some kind of sealant on it just to ensure nothing will get in. Let me know if that's a terrible idea and if there's anything else that might work.
